VFDP4X04-D230-PCM AC Motor Control

The Volts/Hertz VFDP4X-D230AC-PCM has all the features of the VFD series with several additional enhancements. They include an isolated front end, minimum speed adjustment potentiometer, DC injection braking, and automatic or manual restarts.

The dual voltage, isolated VFDP4X-D230AC-PCM inverter can accept a speed reference signal without a separate isolation card. They can be used with a variety of motors including 3-phase induction, single-phase permanent split capacitor (PSC), shaded pole and synchronous motors.

Packed with features,the VFDP4X-D230AC-PCM series has a “doubling” jumper that can be set to output 230VAC to a motor when only 115VAC power supply is available. A jumper also determines if the VFD is set for automatic or manual restarting.

If automatic restart is selected, the inverter will restart after a low voltage fault or power loss, when the input voltage is restored to a minimum level. Another jumper selectable option is DC injection braking or coast-to-stop. Customizing the brake time and current is easy with adjustable trimmer pots.

The compact VFDP4X-D230AC-PCM is available to 1.5 HP, and has the features and flexibility expected in a full-featured AC drive.

  • Compact size: Chassis unit is small and easy to mount.
  • Isolated input: Accepts floating or grounded signals 0-10VDC, 0-5VDC or 4-20mA.
  • DC injection braking: Jumper selectable with adjustable brake current and brake time settings.
  • Output Voltage Doubler: Enables VFD to provide 230V three phase out to the motor when only 115VAC single Phase power supply is available.
  • Torque fold-back feature: Allows up to 200% torque to overcome intermittent peak loads then reduces the torque to the current limit level.
  • Auto or manual restart: Jumper selectable. After a low input voltage fault the VFD will restart itself when minimum input voltage is re-established.
  • Enable and direction inputs: Conveniently interface to the VFD for enable (Start/Stop) and direction (FWD/REV) control.
  • Adjustable 4 to 16kHz switching frequency: Higher frequencies result in audibly quieter motor operation. Lower frequencies produce less electrical noise. Choose the right setting for the environment.
  • User adjustable calibration pots: Minimum speed, maximum speed, current limit, acceleration, deceleration, slip compensation, boost, zero set, brake current and brake time.
  • Diagnostic LEDs: Power, Fault, Enable and Torque Limit.
  • AC line fusing: Conveniently included.
